Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1 cup water
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar and water.
Stir the mixture over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved into the water.
Once the sugar is dissolved, bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.
Remove the saucepan from the heat once the syrup has thickened slightly.
Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a clean jar or bottle for storage.
Store the brown sugar simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
