  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) Ground Beef

  • 8-10 Flour Tortillas (depending on the size of the dish)

  • 2 cups (200g) Mozzarella Cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup (100g) Cheddar Cheese, shredded

  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning

  • 1 cup (240ml) Salsa

  • ½ cup (120g) Sour Cream (optional)

  • Fresh Cilantro (for garnish)

  • Diced Tomatoes (for garnish)

  • Sliced Green Onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Let simmer until the mixture thickens.

  3. Prepare the Baking Dish: In a large baking dish, layer the bottom with flour tortillas. Add a layer of the seasoned ground beef mixture, followed by a layer of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

  4. Repeat Layers: Add another layer of tortillas, then beef, cheese, and salsa. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

  5. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

  6. Rest and Serve: Allow the lasagna to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, and sliced green onions. Serve with sour cream on the side.
